Sinop University was established in 2007 in Sinop, one of the most beautiful cities on the Black Sea coast in northern Türkiye. With its natural beauty, historical richness, and student-friendly environment, Sinop offers an ideal setting for university education. Our university aims to increase its international recognition and provide a multicultural learning experience with its 618 academic staff and more than 15,000 students across 10 faculties, 2 schools, 7 vocational schools, 1 graduate institute, and 13 research centers.

Academic Programs

Sinop University offers a broad spectrum of programs in its 10 faculties, 2 schools, 7 vocational schools, and 1 institute. Some key faculties include:

  • Faculty of Tourism: Offers undergraduate programs in Tourism Guidance, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, and Recreation Management, with master’s programs in Recreation Management and Tourism Management. Facilities include a practice hotel, training kitchen, computer lab, and recreation studio.
  • Faculty of Fisheries: One of the oldest institutions in Sinop, with programs in Fisheries Basic Sciences, Aquaculture, and Fishing & Processing Technology. Equipped with laboratories, aquariums, boats, and sporting facilities.
  • Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences: Offers undergraduate programs in Political Science and Public Administration, International Business and Trade, Health Management, and Real Estate Development and Management, along with several graduate programs.
  • Faculty of Arts and Sciences: Includes departments such as Archaeology, Sociology, Biology, Mathematics, History, Chemistry, and Turkish Language and Literature.
  • Faculty of Engineering: Offers programs in Nuclear Energy, Energy Systems, Metallurgy and Materials, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Engineering.
  • Faculty of Health Sciences: Offers programs in Nursing, Social Work, Midwifery, Child Development, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Occupational Health and Safety.

The Graduate Institute, established in 2020, offers 32 master’s and 1 arts program across various disciplines including Natural Sciences, Humanities, Theology, Engineering, and Interdisciplinary fields like Quantum Systems Modeling and Archaeometry.
